What a great glimpse into the past. I particularly thought the piece about the inventive but impractical shop boy who became a responsible engineer very inspiring.

Some tails were a little hard to follow as they require a familiarity with life long ago. But overall, the book was a good read and I enjoyed the entertaining tails from a different time.

If you are a machinist or industrial historian, This is an interesting read about the work and social interactions of machinist and factory worker around the turn of the last century. An entertaining, but short read.
