Your Old Time Bookstore description:

If you’ve seen any of the earlier volumes you know how entertaining and useful this collection of solutions to machine shop problems can be. (If not, you’ve missed something!) Some of the articles are as useful today as they were a hundred years ago. Others are clever solutions to unusual problems that will provide ideas that you can adapt. And some tricks are downright unbelievable.
We’ve published this from a collection of Lindsay’s high-quality precision scans that he never got around to putting in print. Before he went into hiding Lindsay explained some of the necessary technological secrets needed to create high grade scans, and how few people today know what they’re doing. We suspect he knows what he’s talking about since he started out in a large darkroom making halftones on a huge graphic arts camera where each exposure required a main, a bump, and a flash before processing. So you know this is typical Lindsay high quality. (We just hope we can get him to produce more!)
You’ll learn about shrink fits, making hollow balls from flat stock, boring tool for long tapered holes, sharpening rifle barrel drills, brazing bandsaw blades, making small round threading dies and much, much more.
You get lengthy articles on using a shaper as an all-around shop machine, making and using drifts to accomplish difficult tasks, making a six-throw model crankshaft, experiences in deep-hole drilling, accurate lapping and more.
All of this is tried and true, perfected by imaginative machinists from 1914 to 1920. Heavily illustrated with incredible drawings and photographs. Good stuff! Any one of these articles properly applied is worth the price. (And probably a lot more.) Get a copy!
